Keeping Babies Safe: Protecting Individuals from the Greater Good

Posted by kreutzer at 11:58 PM on November 16, 2008.

Last night I stayed up to 3am writing my essay. This morning I woke up at 9:30. I wrote until 1:30, when I went to brunch. I came back 20 minutes later and resumed writing. In fact, I continued writing until dinner at 6. I just uploaded my essay to the website.

What a day. I'm trying to avoid thinking about the midterms I have on Tuesday and Wednesday that I haven't started studying for <---sentence ending in a preposition. But whatever! I produced a nice title this weekend. That's all that matters. Oh how I adore Jonathan Swift.

Oh, oh! I forgot to mention. I looked scruffy all day (but not in a manly way). I ran out of jeans so I spent the day in grey sweats and my "Harvard - America's McGill" shirt. My hair's a mess. Woohoo!

Second Life affair ends in divorce

It's 17 degrees here right now. The sky is pretty grey though. I can feel the breeze from the window on my leg. I love watching the leaves fall.

Oh man, was I supposed to start my essay 30 minutes ago?

While looking for my source essays, I started reading articles on bioethics by Peter Singer. I haven't decided if he's a horrible person or if he's an awesome person yet but I really want to pick up some of his books. If only I had time...

...and no, I haven't started my essay yet.

A Pretty Big Deal

Posted by kreutzer at 02:10 AM on November 11, 2008.

I don't want to make it sound like I'm depressed and alone all the time. I actually had (mostly) a pretty good day today, really. It's just that my entries are written when I'm playing sad panda.

The Good: Today I stared at boys making out. I couldn't help it. I'd seen it in that xtina (I won't do that again, I promise) video and that episode of Degrassi. But today was the first time I witnessed it in person. Several times. Less than a metre away. I thought it was pretty cool (in a non-creepy sort of way). Gay guys, I've come to realize really are 1) really good looking, 2) super nice, and 3) amazing dancers.

The Bad: I hate booze and cigarettes. The only two people I really knew at the masquerade spent the night alternating between drinking and smoking. When they drank it was okay because I could just sit at the bar beside them. But when they went out to smoke, I was left alone. In the first hour, I tried to sneak in with people I sort of knew. They usually forgot who I was though so that was awkward. In the second hour, I tried talking to other people on the producer board. They kept turning to talk to their friends so that, too, was awkward. In the third hour, I ducked into the bathroom. It was very nicely decorated. I sat on the toilet counting tiles. That wasn't awkward. Problem solved.
